Acer is doubling its efforts to tackle plastic pollution and promote greener technology. As part of the culmination of its Acer Vero campaign, the company will now remove the equivalent of 10,000 plastic bottles from the environment for every Vero product sold and registered, up from 5000 previously, through its partnership with Plastic Bank.

The initiative rewards customers who purchase and register eligible products with free sustainable accessories, reinforcing the campaign’s message that small actions can create a big impact.

‘The campaign has always been about empowering people to make more sustainable choices,’ said Adam Eldrett, business product manager, Acer UK. ‘We are proud to double our impact with Plastic Bank, removing 10,000 plastic bottles per Vero sold, while giving our customers even more reasons to join the movement towards greener technology.’

The Vero line is built on the principles of sustainability, circularity, and energy efficiency. Each product in the range combines powerful performance with environmentally conscious design:

  • Recycled and bio based materials: devices such as the Acer Aspire Vero (AV16-71P) use up to 70% more post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic than previous models.

  • Reduced carbon footprint: the production of the Aspire Vero 16 generates over 30% fewer CO₂ emissions than conventional laptops.

  • Sustainable packaging: 100% recycled and recyclable, with clever reuse potential, the box doubles as a laptop stand, earning a Red Dot Design Award.

  • Longevity by design: easily repairable and upgradable to extend product life and reduce electronic waste.

  • VeroSense software: intelligent battery and power optimisation for lower energy use.

Acer’s partnership with Plastic Bank supports waste collectors in coastal regions, helping prevent ocean bound plastic from entering waterways while improving livelihoods. By doubling the plastic collection per product, the company will now remove the equivalent of 10,000 bottles for every registered purchase symbolising a meaningful step toward circularity and cleaner oceans.

This initiative is part of the wider Earthion platform, which brings together employees, partners, and consumers to tackle environmental challenges collectively. Acer has also pledged to achieve 100% renewable energy use by 2035 through the RE100 initiative and continues to strengthen its responsible minerals sourcing programme.
