Quality Freight Services Limited, a Yorkshire based, UK owned freight forwarder, has announced significant progress in its ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable growth. Driven by a company wide mission to reduce its footprint while increasing positive social impact, the organisation has achieved key milestones that put it ahead of its long term ESG goals.
Since beginning the project, Quality Freight Services has accelerated initiatives across carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and ethical operations, reinforcing its pledge to build a more resilient and responsible future, in partnership with Carbon Neutral Group. These efforts form part of a broader sustainability strategy aligned with global frameworks, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Key sustainability achievements include:
Reduced carbon footprint: through upgraded operational efficiencies, digital transformation, and the adoption of low carbon technologies, the company has successfully reduced its operational emissions from 245 tonnes of CO2e in 2023 to ’24 to 197 tonnes of CO2e (nearly 20%) in 2024 to ’25.
Engagement and education: employees across all departments took part in sustainability training, resulting in increased awareness and participation in green initiatives company wide.
Renewable energy: 81 solar panels were installed into the company’s Shipley head office in January 2024. Since the installation, it has saved 5140 kg of CO2e due to the creation of renewable energy, which is the equivalent 75,294 km driven ‘on sunshine’.
Digitisation: the company has improved its digital infrastructure and moved it from on-premises to a cloud based solution, which will reduce its carbon footprint and energy consumption.
Championing local: local suppliers are always first choice. In Yorkshire, the solar panels are from Harrogate and its digital agency hails from Halifax. The company also supports fledgling businesses such as its website designers, to encourage enterprise and further contribute to the local economy.
Travel and commuting: transport contributes to around one-fifth of global CO2 emissions. Being in the logistics business, we are doing our utmost to mitigate its effect. We encourage our partners to work towards high sustainability standards and work hard to reduce our internal travel emissions. Its 80 strong fleet has more than 90% hybrid or fully electric vehicles and staff are encouraged to use public transport. In addition, it fully supports flexible working and working from home.
Recycling: Quality Freight Service is a recognised member of the UK Vehicle Recyclers’ Association, the trade body of vehicle recycling professionals since 1943, along with the British Metals Recycling Association.
Since 2021, it has also support Breast Cancer Awareness via the printer cartridge recycling initiative.

Duncan Winn, CEO of Quality Freight Services Limited, said: ‘We believe in solid actions, not just promises, we have set clear goals for both short and long term, to reduce our impact on the planet. This year’s progress reflects our passion and responsibility to future generations.’
George Curtis, CEO of Carbon Neutral Groups, added: ‘Quality Freight Services Limited is a great example when demonstrating what meaningful climate leadership looks like in practice. By embedding sustainability into its operations and moving decisively on carbon reduction, resource efficiency and ethical governance, the business is not only accelerating progress against its ESG goals but setting a strong example for the wider logistics sector, where in recent research showed it was lagging behind other sectors when it came down to net zero readiness. We are proud to support Quality Freight Services on this journey as it builds a more resilient, responsible, and future focused organisation aligned with global sustainability frameworks.’
Building on its momentum, Quality Freight Services is investing in new technologies, cross-industry partnerships, and long term strategies to reduce its carbon emissions. The company will also publish its detailed sustainability report later this year, outlining progress, challenges, and next steps.
