By providing charging stations for electric vehicles and e-bikes, the Koehler Group, is taking yet another step in its journey towards a climate friendly future at its Oberkirch headquarters. Since spring, charging has been possible during working hours as a result of a project that was made a reality together with the Stadtwerke Oberkirch utility.
By building the aforementioned charging infrastructure, the Koehler Group has taken yet another step towards meeting its own demanding climate goals. And one of the key factors that made everything go smoothly was the fact that the group could count on the experience of Stadtwerke Oberkirch when it came to the infrastructure required for electric vehicles and e-bikes. As previously mentioned, customers, employees, and visitors have been able to charge their electric vehicles and e-bikes at the Oberkirch site since spring, and all with green power delivered by the utility.
There are a total of 20 AC charging points that deliver 22 kW each, as well as a dual port fast charging station that can supply up to 150 kW, and they can all be used with an exclusive Koehler charging card. In addition, customers and visitors can also charge their vehicles with charging cards integrated into the ladenetzt.de roaming network. On top of this, employees with e-bikes can charge them for free at nine bike charging stations.
‘We are extremely happy to be able to make yet another contribution to the fight against climate change by providing infrastructure for electric vehicles and bikes at our Oberkirch site,’ said CFO of the paper manufacturer Frank Lendowski. ‘And it all went smoothly and met all the various applicable requirements thanks to our highly experienced regional partner, Stadtwerke Oberkirch.’
Construction work started with a large transformer station at Koehler’s premises that delivers the necessary green power to the various charging stations. This was followed by the various charging areas, and then by the work required to meet all IT requirements with a reservation and billing portal. Throughout the process, it received assistance from Stadtwerke Oberkirch, which is now in charge of running the corresponding infrastructure, including the corresponding on-call service.
