Chair to be different!

In a move to both improve the delegate experience while focusing on being fully sustainable in its supplier selection, Southbank based 15Hatfields has partnered with Casala, a sustainable furniture company that prioritises recycled materials to introduce Lynx X1 chairs to its meetings and events spaces.

By replacing the existing chairs with the Lynx X1, 15Hatfields is taking further steps to maintain a high standard of comfort for delegates all while reducing its environmental footprint. Casala’s take back guarantee ensures that 15Hatfields old chairs won’t be sent to landfill and instead will be returned to the manufacturer for reprocessing and reuse, contributing to a circular lifecycle that maximises resource efficiency and minimises waste, closing the loop on furniture waste.

With a frame made from 80% recycled steel and a seat shell containing 10% glass fibre polypropylene, the new chairs boasts up to 100% recyclability, an element that 15Hatfields was keen to find in a new furniture supplier in order to support its ongoing work to minimise waste. Casala’s production facility based in the Netherlands is powered by solar energy through 1400 solar panels on the roof, with additional energy sourced from European wind farms, to ensure maximum efficiency and minimum impact on the environment.

15Hatfields has long been recognised as a pioneer in sustainable events, and this latest initiative is another statement of intent. By carefully selecting suppliers that share its environmental vision, the venue continues to set new standards for the meetings and events industry.

Ensuring that both our old chairs are given a second life, and that our new chairs are made with recycled materials, as well as ensuring they offer maximum comfort for delegates demonstrates the meticulous research that we put into our procurement of new suppliers and our commitment to an eco conscious meetings and events industry.’
