Fishersgate based label manufacturer A4 Labels is celebrated a significant environmental milestone this Earth Day, announcing the impact achieved through its ongoing partnership with Seven Clean Seas.
To date, A4 Labels’ sponsorship has supported the removal of 3311 kg of plastic waste from the ocean, all cleared from the Indonesian coastline – one of the regions most affected by marine pollution.
The partnership, which forms part of A4 Labels’ long term eco pledge, has also delivered tangible environmental and social impact on the ground:
16 beach clean ups sponsored.
18,488 metres of coastline cleaned – equivalent to 168 football fields.
58 hours spent cleaning.
162 days of employment funded for local communities.

Together, these efforts highlight the power of business led environmental action, turning everyday operations into measurable global change.
‘We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved so far with Seven Clean Seas,’ said Charlie Hawker, managing director of A4 Labels. ‘Earth Day is a moment to reflect, but also to push further. Removing over three tonnes of plastic from our oceans is a milestone, but it is only the beginning of what we want to achieve.
‘As a coastal business, protecting the ocean is something we feel strongly about. Through our eco pledge, we are committed to ensuring that every order contributes to a cleaner, healthier planet.’
A spokesperson from Seven Clean Seas added: ‘Partnerships like the one with A4 Labels are essential in tackling the global plastic crisis. Not only are they funding critical clean up operations, but they are also helping to create stable employment in coastal communities most affected by plastic pollution. The impact goes far beyond the environment – it is about people as well.’
The Indonesia based clean up operations funded by A4 Labels focus on intercepting ocean bound plastic, restoring coastlines and supporting local economies through fair-wage employment – helping to create long term, sustainable change.
Founded in 2010 by Colin Hawker, A4 Labels has grown from a Sussex based start up into a globally recognised manufacturer. The company supplies high quality labels to major brands including Lush, The Card Factory, Nando’s, Warner Brothers and Five Guys, alongside thousands of independent UK businesses.
Sustainability has been central to the company’s growth journey. Through its eco pledge, A4 Labels donates 1% of all sales to Seven Clean Seas, embedding environmental responsibility into every stage of the business.
